Anthroposophic Therapy Shows Promise in Chronic Depression
A prospective cohort study out of Germany has found that anthroposophic treatment, which comprises “artistic and
physical therapies and special medication,” produces significant and at-least-moderately long-term symptom reduction
in patients with chronic depression. 97 outpatients between the ages of 20 and 69 received anthroposophic therapy in the
form of art, movement exercise, rhythmical massage, counseling, or medication. Patients received a median of 14 treatment
sessions over 137 days. After 12 months, 35%–42% of patients had improved by ≥50% from baseline. This study appeared
